Diabetes Wellness Day

Cambridge Central Mosque welcomed 400 people to their inaugural Diabetes Wellness Day on Saturday 5 March.
This innovative event was supported by local Primary Care Networks and a range of local health and care organisations offering health checks, exercise tasters and a healthy world buffet. Flash talks and interactive workshops gave people an opportunity to chat to Diabetes nurses, nutritionists, health trainers, social prescribers and GPs about how best to manage or prevent diabetes.
Visitors were incredibly positive about the event, commenting on the range of accessible information, all under one roof in a friendly, community building. A short film has been produced to highlight the day, which you can watch below. This will be the first of many integrated neighbourhood-based events in the future.
