HUC win HSJ Award | News and events

We are proud to announce that at last evening’s Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards 2021, HUC won in the ‘Driving Efficiency Through Technology Award’ category. 

In tandem with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (CUHFT), Northwest Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT) and working with Content Guru’s storm® cloud telephony solution, we launched the Virtual Waiting Room within the region last year. The initiative aims to help patients who call NHS 111 receive the care they need while alleviating the pressure on Emergency Departments (EDs).

The HSJ Awards is the largest annual benchmarking and recognition programme for the health sector. The comprehensive assessment process involved a first round of remote judging – overseen by a panel of dedicated industry professionals - followed by a live presentation. Having successfully completed both of these highly competitive stages, HUC and our partners on this project went on to be awarded the distinguished accolade, standing out amongst a very impressive shortlist.
