Warm hubs welcome people

In just a few short weeks, the Warm Hubs network has welcomed over 1000 residents from across East and South Cambridgeshire, offering essential support at the start of a challenging period for our communities.

Stories captured from across the 30+ venues show that the network is helping to tackle social isolation, help people stay warm, and build new connections and friendships within the heart of each community. This is coupled with hundreds of hours donated by volunteers, trained by Cambridgeshire ACRE to coordinate the programme.

The hubs take the shape of what the community needs and wants. Some open two times a week, others open, like Haddenham which is pictured above, all week.

The new initiative has been developed by South and East Cambridgeshire District Councils, with support from the ICS. The Warm Hubs are coordinated by Cambridgeshire ACRE – the charity dedicated to supporting and strengthening rural communities across Cambridgeshire.

Warm Hubs are running from November 2022 to support local residents during the winter and will be open until the end of March 2023. More information can be found on the dedicated web pages:
