CNO Silver Award for Siobhan

Integrated Care System nurse Siobhan Weaver received one of nursing’s highest honours this week as Dame Ruth May, Chief Nursing Officer for England, awarded Siobhan a Silver Award for her major contributions to patients and the profession.
Siobhan is the Clinical Lead for Children with Complex Needs as well as Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Designated Clinical Officer, supporting local children and families with additional needs.
Presenting the award to Siobhan as part of a virtual ceremony, Dame Ruth commended her for her person-centred focus, her 25 years of service to the NHS, and her passion for supporting children and their families who have special educational needs or disabilities.
Siobhan said:
“I’m feeling overwhelmed and so proud to receive this very special award. For as long as I remember I’ve wanted to be nurse; even as a child I always knew it was what I would be.
“I love my job and I love that it allows me to make a difference, particularly for the incredible children who live with complex health needs, and their families who really need someone in their corner. To be recognised for this work, which is such a big part of my life and my identity, is a huge honour."
Carol Anderson, Chief Nurse at NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough who had the honour of presenting Siobhan her award, said:
“Siobhan is such a fantastic member of our nursing team in the Integrated Care System. We’re thrilled that her efforts to improve the lives of local children with special educational needs and disabilities and their families have been recognised at the highest level of nursing with this Silver Award.
“On behalf of teams across the Integrated Care System I would like to thank Siobhan for the amazing contributions she has made to both the lives of patients, and to our nursing profession.”
