Finance team award
Finance teams across our ICS collectively won the prestigious Finance Team of the Year Award at this year’s Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA)’s annual award ceremony.
The HFMA Awards celebrate finance teams, individuals and organisations across the country who can demonstrate first-class excellence in their fields within the healthcare sector.
This award is a testimony to the hard work of finance colleagues across health and care in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, who worked together over the past year to significantly improve the financial health of our ICS during a very challenging period.
A stronger financial position will enable our ICS to deliver better benefits for local people, so we are very pleased that the efforts of our financial teams have been recognised by the HFMA.
Nicci Briggs, Chief Finance Officer at NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, part of the ICS, said:
We are thrilled that our total system working has been recognised. The financial position of the system has improved dramatically on the back of all our finance teams recognising we are in this together and building a system first approach. To do this takes leadership and collaboration. In the current financial context it is this approach and the behaviours of all finance staff across the system that have helped us to continue to progress.
Further success was celebrated within the ICS, with Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust winning the Diversity and Inclusion Award. Royal Papworth's Interim Chief Finance Officer, Sophie Harrison, won the Deputy Finance Director of the Year accolade, and Tim Glenn was shortlisted as a Finance Director of the Year award finalist.
