Let's Talk: Royston report
Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System (ICS) has published the findings of phase one of Let’s Talk: Royston; its recent engagement campaign for the community in and around Royston where nearly 1,800 people shared their views about their local health and care.
The ICS, a partnership working together to improve the health and wellbeing of people in Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Royston, ran the first phase of Let’s Talk: Royston in summer 2023. 1,795 people responded to the survey at the heart of Let’s Talk: Royston, and over 100 people joined face-to-face events to share their insights and views and talk to the team.
The feedback gathered lots of insights into local people’s experience of health and care, including issues such as accessing appointments, transport options when travelling outside Royston for treatment, and the community’s hopes and aspirations for the future of health and care in Royston.
Over the coming months partners across the ICS will work together to review how the insights gathered through Let’s Talk: Royston can be used to improve how health and care services are provided locally, with further opportunities to take part in the conversation about local health and care to be announced.
Kit Connick, Chief Officer for Strategy and Partnerships with NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, part of the ICS, said:
“We are grateful to everyone who has shared their views as part of this first phase of Let’s Talk: Royston. Nearly 1,800 people spoke up and shared their experiences and insights, either via our survey or at face-to-face events. This is a real testament to how passionate the local community is about their health and care services.
“Our partnership will use the feedback we’ve received to improve how we provide health and care services in and around Royston, so that the community can get the care they need now and in the future. We will continue to listen to local people as we work together for healthier futures.”
Geoff Brown, Chief Executive with Healthwatch Hertfordshire, added:
"Listening to the views of local people has provided a vital insight into their hopes and concerns for future health and care services and the realities of transport and access to health and care sites. We are encouraged to hear that so many people have given their views during this phase, showing how important health and care services are to people in and around Royston and welcome the commitment to continue this conversation with the community."
